Somehow I just knew when I saw this place, that it was meant to be. Don't ask me how, I just knew. When I called Kamila to tell her about the place, I was literally shaking because I was so excited.
Here is the outside entrance to the studio. This may have been what got me-- so sweet. This building is a carriage house dating back to the mid 1800's. This actual part of the building used to be a horse stable. Is it a coinsidence that my 2 year old loves horses? I think not.
 It really just needed some TLC, AND paint, AND new flooring, AND new ceiling tiles, AND new curtains and curtain rods, AND new lighting, AND new custom built ins, more paint, AND new fixtures, AND new light switches, AND new locks and door handles, AND new custom cushion covers, and did I mention paint?! PHILADELPHIA WEDDING PROJECT
Tell your story. I told mine. Philadelphia Wedding Project recently asked me to participate in a wonderful little project that I am super excited about! It started with six photographers wanting to work together and offer photography to a couple with the best story, and has developed into a rather large group effort. I am proud to be a part of this talented group of wedding professionals, and am thrilled to contribute to this great cause!

STUDIO OPENING
I am thrilled to announce that Cheekadee will now have their own makeup studio located in the Chestnut Hill area of Philadelphia. Although not open to public, and by appointment only, the space will be fun, chic (and cheeky)! Think Art Nouveau meets Moderna. It is a carriage house from the 1800's and will be almost completely renovated by our planned opening this fall. The space will be used for everything from trial runs to makeup parties, as well as another very special passion project of mine called Starlet Sessions. Thank you so much for your continued support. Tricia and I are excited to offer this added luxury to our clients. I will post photos as soon as we start sprucing the place up.

Yesterday, the voting for Best Wedding Makeup began for the My Fox Philly contest. Two years ago Cheekadee came in 3rd place, last year we were 2nd, so this year we want to come in 1st!!! Yesterday a client of mine (Jennifer) sent me a message on Facebook informing me that she and her husband Chad were chosen to be in the "Real Weddings" section of the Philadelphia Magazine website. Thanks to Jennifer, I realized that not only was her gorgeous wedding showcased, but 3 of my other brides were featured there too! Check out all of their beautiful weddings!

First Blog Posting

I am so excited to NOT be saying "I am in the process of updating my website' ONE MORE TIME! Although I loved my old website, it was a bit "goth" and the biggest problem was that I needed a fresh place to showcase my more recent makeup work. So, after five years of deliberating over how this new site was going to look and how it was going to function, I decided to leave that all up to the expert, and that expert is Tony DiCicco. www.diciccoadgroup.com. Tony really listened to the needs and wants of Cheekadee and came up with something that I am truly proud to put my name on.
So, as a first blog posting- where do I begin?! Should it be professional, personal, fun, a combination of all three?! I will try my best to keep this interesting and updated at least once week. I will try to keep this blog filled with pro makeup tips, as well as postings and updates of weddings and photo shoots that Tricia and I are doing or have done. It will also be the place where we can give thanks to the fellow vendors that we work with and hopefully fill people in on a little more of what we do and see every week.
