Philadelphia's Makeup Artists
I started Cheekadee because of my love for makeup. I am proud to say that my staff of Makeup Artists have over one hundred years of combined professional experience! Thank you for visiting! We have experience in all facets of makeup: fashion, film, special events, print and video. We would like to thank all of our wonderful clients throughout the years who have given us the greatest compliment of all… the referral of family and friends.
Here’s some of our frequently asked questions.
A: Yes, if that is what you want. We can assure you that it will stay on, but if you would feel more comfortable knowing that we are there for you, just in case, we will be there for an additional fee of $95 per hour for each hour starting after the last person is finished with makeup.
A: Yes, all of the products that we use are allergy tested and safe for your skin.
A. We will travel to you on your wedding day. Trials are by appointment only in our Chestnut Hill studio. Weekday, evening and weekend times are available to book your trial appointment.
A: As soon as possible! We are often booked out 6 months to 1 year in advance, so the sooner you contact and book, the better chance that we will have your date available. We operate on first come, first serve basis and we can only reserve your wedding date with a contract and deposit.
A: We recommend that you book your trial 4-6 months before your wedding, as we have a 90 day cancellation policy.
A: Absolutely! We are happy to schedule trials for any other adults in your bridal party. Just let us know!
A: Yes, you can. Just be aware that each additional trial comes with the same fee as the first one.
A: Trials are a service we provide for you which requires time, skills and product. Our trials are a very involved process, in which discuss your needs, your comfort level with makeup, precise makeup application, possible revisions and much more.
A: We do offer airbrush foundation in addition to traditional foundation. We prefer traditional foundations for a more natural finish, but we find airbrush a good option for clients with certain skin conditions requiring more coverage. Our artists like to discuss both airbrush and traditional foundation before making a decision.
A: Yes, if there are 8 or more people requiring makeup services, then your lead artist will bring along an assistant with them to help to speed up the process. There are two options for this depending on time and money.
A prep assistant is brought along for parties of sometimes 7, but mostly 8 or more. This person will prep the skin, apply the appropriate primers, clean lead artists brushes and apply lipstick towards the end. There are different fees associated with each of these separate services.
A side by side assistant is another lead artist who can work side by side to do all of the things that your assigned lead artist can do, including: lashes and full makeup application.
A: Yes! We LOVE the look of false lashes. It just gives most eyes that ‘PoP’ that was missing without them. We can apply either individual lashes (softer) or full sets for a more dramatic effect. The additional cost is $15 each time the lashes are applied.
A: Yes! We LOVE when clients write to tell us just how long their makeup lasts. We use eye shadow base as well as special primers and potions for each skin type, depending on normal or dry skin. We then set all of the makeup with an amazing setting spray. It will. not. move.
A: Yes, if that is what you want. We can assure you that it will stay on, but if you would feel more comfortable knowing that we are there for you, just in case, we will be there for an additional fee of $95 per hour for each hour starting after the last person is finished with makeup.
A: Yes, we can do this, but keep in mind that each time that we set up it takes us 20-30 minutes and each time that we break down, it takes us the same amount of time. So, there is an additional fee for that as well. The fee depends on how far your 2nd location is from the 1st.
A: Yes! We will travel anywhere that you would like us to. Our travel fees are $1 per mile for each additional mile over 15 from our Chestnut Hill Studio.
If your wedding is super early, there may also be a travel fee involved. There are unique situations that are never too complicated for us to figure out, just ask :)
A: Yes! We will take the time to get to know you and your comfort level with makeup. You are important to us. We WILL listen! You will leave happy and not looking overdone.
